WIPMarathon Check-In #4

Last Check-in Wordcount + ChapterCount (+ scene count if you’re revising): Nada.

Current WC + CC (or SC): Same.

WIP Issues this week: I am still tightening a MS that is NOT my WIP for this marathon! Agh!!

What I learnt this week in writing: That even when you honestly believe you can’t get your synopsis below 700 words, YOU CAN. Cut mine from 747 to 485, and I’m pretty proud of this fact. I am finally learning to cut to the chase, I think 🙂

What distracted me this week while writing: Christmas in Scotland 🙂 Had a fun day out in Glasgow today and tomorrow we’re off to Edinburgh. I managed to finish reading one friend’s MS, finish a novel I started last week, and read through 2 craft books. So despite my lack of actual writing, this has been a pretty useful writing week still anyhow.

Last 200 words: As I’ve only been doing the odd word tweak since last week, I don’t think that really counts. Same for the synopsis 😉 NEXT WEEK!!

The days are getting longer now, though, folks! Have fun ringing in the New Year, and see you on the other side!

  1. Whew! You got so much done this week non-writing wise…and I must say, a synopsis below 500 words seems like a feat achieved by only super-powered writers. Keep up the good work!
Have a fun new year too!
